Prices reached by raw materials, unthinkable just a few months ago, throw a shadow over recovery. If it’s any consolation, the latest outlook survey conducted by the Assofond Study Centre, shows how Italian foundries have the concrete chance to recover the ground they lost to pandemic in 2020 as early as this year. Results are pretty clear: rising sales in the first quarter, with an increase in the production of new models and new client acquisition. The most positive data is the expected to see a year-on- year increase of up to +21% on 2020 by the end of the year. That equates to a full recovery from last year’s losses (-17.9% compared to 2019).
